Cougars continue indoor season at New Mexico Collegiate Classic, Riverfront Invite

SPOKANE, Wash./ ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Washington State men's and women's indoor track and field teams continued the indoor season Friday, beginning another split weekend that saw athletes compete at both the Riverfront Invite and Multis at The Podium, as well as the New Mexico Collegiate Classic at the Albuquerque Convention Center. Nijjar's school record came on the track at The Podium just before freshman Grant Buckmiller finished the men's 200-meter in 21.05, setting a WSU freshman-record for a third-consecutive week to begin his collegiate running career.

Down in Albuquerque, N.M., Lee Walburn finished the first day of the heptathlon in second in the overall points standings as he and teammate Mason Mahacek each PR'd in the 60m dash, long jump, and shot put, respectively, to begin the day.
